Welcome to the Bergenfield Volunteer Ambulance Corps (BVAC)
website. BVAC has been serving the emergency medical needs of the residents of
Bergenfield, NJ since 1941 by providing the highest quality Basic Life Support
(BLS) and transport to our patients free of charge.
The Bergenfield Volunteer Ambulance Corps has an active membership of
approximately 30 volunteers. Membership is comprised of men and women whose
ages range from high school to retirement age. Among the corps personnel you
will find students, paramedics, firefighters, policemen, accountants, bus
drivers, computer programmers, office workers and more. Every
riding member of BVAC is
an Emergency Medical Technician certified by the State of New Jersey Department of Health or by the
National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
Among the services we provide are:
- Emergency care and transportation
- Limited prescheduled non-emergency transportation services from local hospitals to home
- Stand-by for fires and other emergencies
- Stand-by for community events
- Loans of medical equipment if
available
- CPR training and certification
